Coming Attractions
I plan to expand materials on this site as fast as possible, but ambitions
always exceed the time that can be allocated. Here is a partial list of what is
planned:
- More pages on Samarkand, so that all the major architectural monuments will be covered.
In the meantime, photos can be found on the Cities/Buildings Archive (see
"More Photos")
- Essays on Bukhara and Khiva
- More pages for Dunhuang
- More historical texts relating to the Silk Road
- Information about maps of Central Asia
- At least a photo essay on Kashgar (many of the pictures are already available on the new
version of the Cities/Buildings Archive)
- The Baltoro and Gasherbrum II
- Biking from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan, via the Karakoram Highway
- The Karatash River valley and "Alps of Kongur"
- Mustagh Ata
- Khan Tengri
- Trekking on the Aktubek to Karavshin route in the Pamir-Alai mountains (a few of the
photos are already available via my Mountain Travel page)
- Portraits of the Kyrgyz, a slide show accompanied by the extraordinary Elmira
Kochumkulkizi singing Kyrgyz songs
- Mt. Elbrus and the peaks of the Caucasus
