Nepal quake-induced geohazards

On April 25, 2015, a massive earthquake (Gorkha earthquake, Mw7.8) and many aftershocks struck Nepal , killing about 9,000 people and triggering thousands of landslides across the Himalaya. I am working with a NASA-led international group of scientists to map the quake-induced geohazards, including landslide-dammed lakes, that resulted. The first paper stemming from this work was published online in Science on Dec 16, 2015, and will appear in print in early 2016.
