Welcome to the Union Bay Ultrasensitive Bioanalysis Team web site!
This team works under the guidance of Norm Dovichi. Our group has diverse skills in analytical chemistry, biology, computing, and instrumentation. Visit the people section of our web site to find more about us.
One major area of our research is on bioanalytical instrumentation, such as: single and multi-capillary electrophoresis instruments, laser induced fluorescence and thermo optical absorbance spectroscopy. We have developed 5, 16, 32 and 96 capillary instruments for DNA analysis. The first generation of these instruments were licensed to Applied Biosystems and commercialized as the Model 3700 sequencer, which is the tool that was used to sequence the human genome.
Our research on bioanalytical techniques includes proteomics, DNA analysis, single-cell analysis, single molecule biophysics, biomedical applications and CE Chemistry. Visit the research section of our web site to browse through some recent research projects.
You will also find a list of our research publications in this website. Please contact us if you have any comments or would like to know more about our research.
