Note: Scholars are still equivocal as to whether
the the letter L emblazened across the statue's breast
signifies the L in the name Cerebrum Flatus.
For instance,
Professor Toynbee (A Study of History, Oxford Press 1933)
argues that it signifies the L from the name Tantalus,
the mythical Greek figure who was cursed to have any object he reached
for recede just out of grasp.
However, it has also been suggested
(Kisik, K.A, Symmetry, Synergy and Syllogism 1963) that the L is
in fact the leading J from the name Johann Faustus.
The theory purports that the original image of the torso
was inadvertantly inverted [sic] at some stage in the digitzation.
However, such a mirror transpostion is difficult to reconcile
with the orientation of the other graffiti littering the statue.
