Your grade will be based on the best seven out of nine exams.

There will be an exam each Friday on that week's material.

The grade for each exam will be expressed as a percentage correct (for example getting 20 out of 20 possible points is 100%, 15 out of 20 would be 75%, etc.)

The best seven exam scores will be averaged for the final grade.

Example One :

1. 90 2. 95 3. 100 4. 85 5. 60

6. 102 7. 85 8. 104 9. 75

Remember only the best seven scores will be averaged, so exams 5 and 9 would not be averaged for the final grade.

The average of the best seven is 94.4 and so this person's final grade would be a 3.7.

Example Two :

1. 90 2. 95 3. (missed exam) 4. 85 5. 60 6. 80 7. 85 8. 85 9. 75

Missed exams count as 0, so exams 3 and 5 would not be averaged for the final grade.

The average of the best seven is 85 and so this person's final grade would be a 3.1.

You will have the option of ONE "no-questions-asked" make-up for the quarter. (note there may be need for additional make-ups, but you will need to get permission for those)

Exam questions are usually short-answer type .

There will be NO extra credit papers, but there will extra credit assignments during the quarter.
