I attended the workshop "An Introduction to Agent-Based Modeling for Research on Teams and Organizations" by Corinne Coen at the INGRoup conference on July 17, 2014. It was an excellent workshop and we left with great materials and some created models to show for it.
New Teams and Behavioral Operations Projects
“A Study of Healthcare Team Disruptions and Adaptation” is an investigation of team adaptation within dynamic environments. The research team consisting of M. Travis Maynard of Colorado State, S. Amy Sommer of HEC Paris, and undergraduate research assistants (Jarvis, Ashley, and Anthony) is seeking to understand the nuances and variation in team adaptation by teams in healthcare settings that may face more complexity in life-critical situations and therefore, more opportunities for disruptive events that cannot be avoided or ignored, than other teams. We have work under review and results from initial investigation to be presented at the 2014 INFORMS conference.
