  1. 2000 (hardcover): an errata sheet is available as a PDF file.
  2. 2000 (hardcover): the second printing is identical to the first, so the errata sheet is the same PDF file as for the first printing.
  3. 2002 (hardcover): the third printing corrected a number of errors. To tell if your hardcover copy of the book is from the third printing, look toward the middle of the fourth page in the book with printing on it (this is the page just before the one with the dedication to Piroska and Hilary): if you see the line `Reprinted 2002' following the line `First published 2000', you have a copy from the third printing. The errata sheet for the just the errors found since the third printing is available as a PDF file.
  4. 2006 (softcover): all previously known errata were corrected for this edition, and the preface has been expanded to thank all of the many readers who have notified us about errors in the book. The errata sheet for just the errors found since this softcover edition appeared is available as a PDF file.

  1. 2004 (softcover): this is a reprinting of the third CUP printing that is licensed for distribution and sale in the People's Republic of China only. The errata sheet is the same as for the third CUP printing (PDF).
  2. 2006 (softcover): this is a translation of the book into Chinese. It is based on the third printing, but it also takes into account all previously known errata and can be regarded as equivalent to the fourth CUP printing, so the PDF file for that printing should be used.
