The senior
capstone portfolio self-assessment is your opportunity to reflect upon your
progress as an academic speaker and writer. To provide some guidance and
structure for this reflection, IAS is providing you with a questionnaire, is
available in the Course Documents area of
Blackboard.
I would like to elaborate on some of the
questionnaire items:
-
The questionnaire should be the first page of your
portfolio. Be sure to sign it where indicated.
- "Option"
(item #5 at the top of the page) means your
concentration within IAS (e.g., AMS, SEB, CLA, etc.).
- After the questionnaire, provide a
typed list of all of the artifacts you have reviewed for the portfolio,
including
the quarter and year along with
the course number for each listed
assignment. On this list of all reviewed items, highlight or
bold the artifacts that are included in the submitted portfolio.
- I expect that it will take you at
least two or three substantive paragraphs to
respond adequately to items 1 through 5.
-
Please type
responses on separate sheets of paper, using double-spacing. Please indicate the
item number to which you are referring, but please do not re-type the
question itself. Staple all additional sheets to the questionnaire
form.
- Be sure to
sign the questionnaire where indicated and use this document as a cover
page for your
portfolio.
- Your portfolio may be submitted in a
folder or binder, or may be stapled without any cover (as long as the staple
penetrates all pages).
The senior capstone portfolio self-assessment will be graded
based on the following criteria.
Completeness
(responds appropriately to the questionnaire in form and
content)
|
20 percent
|
Depth of
response (quality of detail and support; sophistication of ideas and
reflection)
|
70 percent
|
Quality of writing (organization; spelling, grammar,
diction, punctuation) |
10
percent |
The capstone
portfolio is worth 5 percent of the final course grade. However,
note that you must earn a passing grade on your capstone
portfolio in order to graduate
.
