Research Interests

Investigations of structures and dynamics of highly-compressed phases to understand bonding and chemical properties under extreme conditions; Experimental techniques include laser-Raman, laser-fluorescence spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction in the diamond anvil cell

Investigation of thermodynamic and thermoelastic properties of mineral phases relevant to the Earth and other planetary interiors; Modeling planetary interiors, particularly mineral composition, convective style and temperatures

Simultaneous High-Pressure and High-Temperature vibrational spectroscopy.

Resonance Raman spectroscopy of nanophases (nanotubes, nanocrystals, and adsorbed species)
