Abstract for Lecture #23 - Titrations

A rigorous treatment of the titration of a weak acid with a strong base is given. We start with four equations in four unknowns, and derive an expression for the proton concentration in terms of Ka, initial acid concentration added base concentration. This results in a cubic equation for which an exact solution exists. This solution is made available on a spreadsheet.
