Chapter IV     Ideal gases
Chapter V      The Fermi and Bose distributions
Chapter VI     Solids
Chpater VII   Non-ideal gases
Chpater VIII  Phase equilibria (if time permits)
Chapter  XI    Properties of matter at very high density
Chapter  XII   Fluctuations (if time permits)


Exams:        February 3rd, March 3rd at 10:30 am and March 13 at 12:30- 2:20 pm


Homework:

1)  Problems 5-9 from chapter 1, Kubo, Statisitical Mechanics
2)  Problems from chapter III in L&L, due 01/27
3) 
I suggest the following problems: 39-1, 39-2, 39-3, 39-4 42-1, 42-2, 42-3 , 43-1 through 17, 50-1, 51-1, 52-1 through 4 in chapter IV in L&L.
You have to work through at least 15 problems in chapter IV, due 02/10

4)  The problems in chapters V and VII, due 03/06.
