I’m an assistant professor at the Department of Linguistics, University of Washington, where I also direct the Phonology Lab

You can find more about my work on the UW PHONOLOGY LAB website.

My main research interests lie in the intersection of experimental and computational phonology, phonological typology, and the theory of language change. Combining behavioral experiments with statistical and computational modeling, I try to estimate which aspects of phonological typology are primarily influenced by cognitive factors and which aspects are emergent from diachronic developments.
