Colleagues

Professor David Mabberley announced yesterday that he has accepted a new position as Keeper of the Herbarium, Library, Art and Archives at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. This is a very exciting and prestigious position and we are very happy for him.

Professor Mabberley will be with us until the end of February, 2008 - thus allowing time to plan for a transition to a new director. Nevertheless, it is our intention to simultaneously look for a temporary director and to seek approval to initiate a search for a permanent director.

We also wish to thank David for his three years of service to the University of Washington and the College. He initiated many new activities during his brief time with us and for that we are grateful.
