March 23, 2002

Colleagues,

Spring Quarter College faculty meetings have been scheduled for the following dates:

April 5 and 26
May 10 and 24

All meetings will run from 1:30-3:30 pm. Locations and agendas (for all but the April 5 meeting) will be distributed later. I hope you plan to attend all of these important meetings.

The previously announced April 5 meeting is devoted to a discussion of the new undergraduate curriculum. The EFC and CPC will co-host this meeting and the CTRAN will lead the discussion. The meeting is scheduled for the Lockwood Forest Club Room from 1:30-3:30 pm.

It is my intention to bring the discussion regarding the new curriculum to a conclusion and a faculty vote during Spring Quarter. As described in my March 15 email, once the College faculty, as a whole, endorses a revised curriculum in sufficient detail to foster a change in our undergraduate degree offerings, I will submit the plan to the Provost and initiate the RCEP process. The RCEP process has to be fully completed before any major undergraduate curriculum change can be implemented.

I encourage each of you to fully engage in discussions with CTRAN. They are open to all suggestions for improving our undergraduate programs within the limits defined by the November 7, 2001 faculty vote. Thank you and best wishes.

B. Bruce Bare, Dean
