Colleagues,

I wish to announce formation of a search committee for a tenured faculty member who will serve as director of the Center for Urban Horticulture and the Washington Park Arboretum. The director will hold the title of the Orin and Althea Soest Chair in Urban Horticulkture.

Attached is a description of the position as well as the composition and charge to the search committee.

Please note that I consider this a high priority position. As such, I am prepared to provide additional staff assistance to the Committee to help identify specific candidates, make phone calls, and undertake other administrative tasks.
