Colleagues,

I am delighted to formally announce that Professor David Briggs' appointment to the Corkery Family Chair was approved by the Provost and the Board of Regents at their January 2005 meeting.

The appointment is effective January 1, 2005 and continues through December 31, 2007 at which time a possible two year extension may be granted. Professor Briggs will use the Chair to help further the goals of the Precision Forestry Cooperative.
