Water Center Director Anne Steinemann has announced her intention to resign her directorship and return to her role as professor. We have, regrettably, accepted her decision and wish to thank her for the years of service she provided to the Center and University.

Over the summer we met twice with the Center's advisory board to discuss this and other issues. They have suggested several ways that the Center can continue to play a critical role involving the discovery and translational of new knowledge related to the stewardship and management of our water resources.

I have asked Associate Dean Bob Edmonds to assume the interim directorship of the Center effective September 24, 2008 and he has accepted. In addition, both Debbie Livingstone and Dan Ribeiro remain with the Center to assist Dr. Edmonds.
