Dear CFR Students,

As you know, the State is experiencing difficult financial conditions at this time. We expect the biennial budget for 2003-05 to be especially difficult for the University of Washington and the College. We want everyone in the College to have an opportunity to express their views concerning an appropriate budget reduction policy and priorities for retaining essential services in the face of such cuts.

We expect to hold an All-College meeting during the first two weeks of January 2003 at which time budget information will be presented and input solicited. The College Elected Faculty Council and the Ad Hoc Staff Budget Advisory Group will help facilitate the discussion.
