The general consensus is that demand for certified wood products will grow. This is based on high current demand for niche market wood products and the fact that Home Depot announced its intention to “eliminate wood from endangered areas -- including lauan, redwood and cedar products -- and give preference to certified wood” that is tracked from the forest to the customer. Home Depot appears to favor the FSC protocol at the present time.
