To All Members of the CFR Community,

I am pleased to announce that the Graduate School approved our proposal to offer a new program option in Forest Management to our existing MFR degree. Students who fulfill all degree requirements for this option will be granted an MFR in Forest Management.

As you know, this degree will serve as the professionally accredited forestry program for the College and is structured as a 4-1 program of study. Students who follow the Sustainable Forest Management pathway of our BSF ESRM major are expected to complete the MFR with one additional year of study. Course work in the senior year is blended into that of the MFR degree program.

The final step of the process will be pursued in April when an accreditation study team from SAF visits campus to review our new MFR option.

I wish to acknowledge the extra efforts of Professor James Agee and Associate Dean Steve West who helped design the program and shepherd it through the review process. Their efforts on behalf of the future of forestry education in our College are greatly appreciated.
