FIELD WORK EXPERIENCE

Field work on over thirty Chinese dialects from five different dialect groups:  Yue, Hakka, Min, Wu and Mandarin -- including Shaoguan (2 varieties), Shunde (3 varieties), Nanhai, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Taishan (3 varieties), Kaiping, Yangchun, Gaozhou, Wuchuan, Lianzhou (3 varieties), Gaoyao, Gaoming, Huazhou (2 varieties), Tengxian, Hong Kong Cantonese (all Yue dialects); Maoming, Fangcheng, Huiyang, Taiwan Xinzhu (all Hakka); Suixi, Yilan, Wenchang, Jieyang, Pingyang, Zhangzhou, Fuzhou (all Min); Suzhou, Shanghai, Anji (Wu); Kunming, Lanzhou, Xining, Huoxian (all Mandarin). 

Field work on non-Sinitic languages -- Longming (a Tai dialect of Southwestern China), Newari and Sherpa (Tibeto-Burman).
