Course requirements and
grading:
1. (60%) Satisfactory and timely completion of the
assigned weekly exercises in Bradley's Arnold.
2. (15%) A mid-term consisting of a translation (to be
done at home) of one of the connected prose passages, numbers 1-45, at the end
of BA (pp. 320-39) and done in the style of one of the authors studied in MRP
Chaps. 1-4. Due Wednesday, Oct. 29.
3. (15%) A final along the lines of the midterm,
except that the passage should be selected from numbers 46-89 in BA (pp.
339-58) and must be done in the style of any of the authors studied in MRP
(other than the one you did for the midterm). Alternatives will be considered, e.g.,
an original letter done in the style of Pliny the Younger. Due date: No later than noon Wednesday, Dec.
10.
4. (10%) Active participation in class discussions
(=youÕre expected to come prepared and contribute)
NB: Whether you type or handwrite your assignments, PLEASE
DOUBLESPACE.
