As previously indicated: on Monday, Dec. 5 we will perform the latter part of the Pro Archia. Please memorize and be prepared to recite (oh yes...and eventually translate) your assigned passage. I will serve as prompter, so donÕt panic if you forget a line! Indeed, donÕt panic generally. And fair warning: only Archias can have his text open during the ÔperformanceÕ...all Ciceros must listen to Cicero.
22: Cicero 1 (Lindsay)
23: Cicero 2 (Rachel)
24: Cicero 3 (Brent)
25: Cicero 4 (Jason)
26: Cicero 5 (Jaime)
27: Cicero 6 (Ruben)
28: Cicero 7 (Hans)
29: Cicero 8 (Robin)
30: Cicero 9 (Richard)
31: Cicero 10 (Ashli)
32: Cicero 11 (Archias)
For Wednesday:
On Wednesday I will distribute the Ôfinal examÕ. This is a take-home exercise that you may complete and turn in at any time before Friday of exam week; there is a two hour limit. You will have to translate four (4) passages in all (roughly 15-20 lines each): one from each of the three texts we have read (I will give you 2 passages from each text, and you will pick 1 to do), and one sight passage (no choice there...but youÕll like it).
NB: Please note that this Ôfinal examÕ is entirely OPTIONAL for those who have already passed the PhD Latin exam
